David Drakeford

David Drakeford

David Drakeford is a 44-year-old 2Spirited Indigenous Cree male from Brunswick House First Nations in Chapleau Ontario, currently residing in St Catharines (Niagara Region). He says, "A 60’s Scoop Survivor and adopted October 1977 into the Drakeford family, I just recently met my biological brothers and sister after 41 years of separation. I am a Care Giver as well as an Advocate & Activist for many marginalized groups of people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS, Mental Health & Addictions, and Seniors Citizens. I sit on the Board of Directors of OAHAS in Toronto. I am also on the Memorial Committee at Positive Living Niagara. I have completed the Ontario Aids Network Positive Leadership Development Institute, as well as the Ramp It Up program at the Niagara Center for Independent Living. I have worked with the Head of Emergency Department at my local Hospital to create a Seniors Safety Initiative program and hope to create a Peer Support Program for people with Mental Health, Addictions and HIV/AIDS within the Emergency Department of the St Catharines hospital. I am also a Graduate of Niagara College at the Advanced Level II Culinary program. I do volunteer work throughout my communities. All my relations."
