Dr. Shayne Clarke wins SSHRC Insight Grant

The $247,125 grant will help advance scholarship of Tibetan Dunhuang manuscripts preserved in the Stein and Pelliot collections.

Congratulations to Dr. Shayne Clarke on recently being awarded SSHRC Insight grant worth $247,125.

Using this grant, Dr. Clarke will prepare a new catalogue of the Buddhist monastic law (Vinaya) texts preserved in Tibetan at Dunhuang. The catalogue will focuses on correctly identifying the vinayamanuscripts, with the goal of making the collections more usable to vinaya specialists.
