Topics in Continental Philosophy and Religious Thought
This seminar will begin with Ludwig Feuerbach's famous nineteenth century critique of religion, The Essence of Christianity, followed by Karl Marx's "Theses on Feuerbach" and Part I of The German Ideology. We will then turn to Kierkegaard, Philosophical Fragments and Practice in Christianity. Finally we'll examine Walter Benjamin, "Theses on the Philosophy of History."
