Tsartsidou Georgia, Phytolith Specialist
Biography
Georgia Tsartsidou is an archaeologist-archaeobotanist at the Ephorate of Palaeoanthropology-Speleology of the Greek Ministry of Culture, having received their PhD at the University of Thessaloniki. Their primary research interests are ethno-geoarchaeological studies, and the application of phytolith analysis to prehistoric sites of Greece, Cyprus, Hungary, Albania, and Turkey, and is a key member of the European Research Council funded PLANTCULT project, dedicated to the exploring prehistoric cuisines of Europe, in particular their plant ingredients and their transformation into meals.
