Biography

Emily Thompson-Becker is a recent graduate from Queen’s University (2018), completing a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree majoring in Global Development with a minor in Political Studies. During her undergraduate career, Emily played a vital leadership role in campus organizations including UNICEF Queen’s (2015-2018), Queen’s Students for Partners in Health, and QMIX, a social club for students identifying with a mixed background. As President of Internal Affairs for UNICEF Queen’s, Emily organized the UNICEF in Action Conference, gaining experience with help from UNICEF Canada. Emily is deeply interested in the impact of globalization on socioeconomic determinants of health and environmental justice.
