Biography
I completed my Bachelors Degree (Honours) at the University of Victoria in 2016. I majored in anthropology, and focused in bioarchaeology. For my honours research I conducted a bibliometric evaluation of one of bioarchaeology’s primary journals, The International Journal of Osteoarchaeolgy. With this study, I explored the role case studies play in the field of modern paleopathology.
My research interests are situated within the field of bioarchaeology. Specifically, I am interested in biocultural theory, paleopathology, and stable isotopic reconstructions of past diet. My MA research will focus on the reconstruction of diet within an Iron Age cemetery in Southern Italy, while exploring how diet might influence the presence of non-specific indicators of stress in the skeleton.
