Biography

Michelle Sayles graduated with honors from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and a minor in Spanish. She has spent the last 4 years living in Burlington, VT, supporting various grassroots campaigns and projects as an arts activist. Her work deals with issues including universal healthcare, affordable housing, migrant rights and environmental justice, and was featured in the 2015 Segunda Llamada international poster competition. Most recently she was working with the VT Migrant Education Program as a teacher, and just completed illustrations for a U.S. Dairyworkers' Know Your Rights manual. Her research interests include urban studies and human rights, and she would like to delve into questions of community self-determination in the face of authoritarianism.
