Biography
Planetologist, geo-chronologist, physicist and archaeometrist, recent director of the Centre de Recherche de Physique Appliquée à l'Archéologie (CRP2A, Université Bordeaux 3) l'Institut de Recherche sur les Archéomatériaux (IRAMAT / CNRS-Université Bordeaux 3). Significant research over the past 35 years on the elemental characterization and fission-track dating of obsidian, studying geological and archaeological material from Columbia, Ecuador, Ethiopia, France, Georgia, Israel, Italy, Peru, Syria, Turkey. Has been a research collaborator and co-author with Tristan Carter since 1999, working on the analysis of obsidian artefacts from Çatalhöyük, Göbekli Tepe and the Öküzini Cave amongst other data sets.
