Biography

I completed my B.A. Honours in Anthropology and English at the University of Manitoba in 2018 and completed my MA in Anthropology at McMaster University in 2020.

I am interested in biocultural anthropology, specifically how our food environments and food insecurity impact our health and well-being. My Masters research focused on how food insecurity impacted one’s risk for developing complications, including gestational diabetes, and mood or anxiety disorders during pregnancy. My doctoral research aims to examine the effects of food insecurity during adolescence, ages 12 to 19 in Hamilton, Ontario, to determine how adolescents experience food insecurity as they also adjust to biological and social-role transitions.
