Biography
Anwar is a PhD student in political science specializing in comparative public policy. She holds a BA in Health Policy (York University) and a MA in Political Science (McMaster University). Anwar's research interests focus broadly on Canadian and comparative politics, elections, public opinion, and financial governance.
As a Digital Society Lab Doctoral Fellow, Anwar has worked on the COVID-19 Monitor project and has contributed to the growing body of literature on public opinion in relation to COVID-19 policy interventions, including two co-authored articles which have appeared in Canadian Public Policy and Politics & Gender.
Anwar has also been actively contributing to the literature on financial regulations and governance. She has two co-authored book chapters with Dr. Tony Porter. Their first contribution appeared in the Handbook of Business and Public Policy and their second book chapter appears in the 2021 Canada Among Nations publication, a key source for contemporary insight into Canadian foreign policy issues.
Anwar was the Chair of the McMaster Political Science Graduate Students Association (MPSGSA) for the 2021-2022 academic year and the lead organizer for the 11th annual Mapping the Global Dimensions of Policy graduate conference.
