Biography

In May 2014 I graduated from the Anthropology program at Trent University, with an Emphasis in Global Power and Politics. During the summer of 2014 I conducted research at two migrant agricultural worker clinics in Ontario, and worked with a team of researchers to evaluate this pilot initiative. In September 2014, I began my 2-year Master’s program at McMaster University in the Anthropology of Health program. My Master’s research project explores the mental health experiences of migrant agricultural workers from the Caribbean working in Southern Ontario. During the summer of 2015, I was busy conducting fieldwork at multiple sites across Southern Ontario. Over the summer I co-authored a chapter on the cumulative health consequences of labour migration for an upcoming edited volume on migration and health, and in September 2015 I attended the International Congress on Rural Health in Italy, where I presented a co-authored paper on the migrant worker clinics pilot project. I was recently awarded the 2014-15 David Oliver Mackey Ontario Graduate Scholarship by McMaster University, and my current research project received funding from the Canadian Institute for Health Research in 2015.
