Biography

Natasha Martinez is a recent graduate from the McMaster University graduating class of 2016. She graduated with Honors in Bachelor of Arts majoring in Justice, Political Philosophy, and Law. She also completed a second degree in Religious Studies. Throughout her post-secondary studies, she developed a strong interest in Immigration and Refugee law, human rights, and migration issues. For this reason, she decided to pursue a career as a Paralegal and recently completed her studies at Seneca College in Toronto. During her time at Seneca, she volunteered at a local legal advice clinic working with marginalized clients. This summer she also had the opportunity to intern with a migration agency where she worked with various types of Canadian immigration applications. While her research interests vary, she is considering examining how immigration policies in the global north affect human rights and human development in the global south.
