Biography
I received my BA (Honours) with a double major in Religion and Professional Writing at the University of Toronto, and went on to complete my MA in Second Language Education at OISE, University of Toronto. My MA thesis used oral history and ethnographic methods to identify the forms of memorialization and their implications among Chinese-Indians who were confined in an Indian detention camp in the aftermath of 1962 Sino-Indian War. For my PhD research, I build upon my MA research to explore the lives of Chinese-Indians at the intersection of migration, memory, displacement, social belonging and kinship.
