Lew Robyn, (She/Her)
Biography
I am interested in visual culture, experimental writing, new modes of resistance and collectivity, and the intersection of art and nongovernmental politics. Drawing on cultural studies, aesthetics, and political theory, my research explores how contemporary artists' books index social realities and political desires. I consider the critical and aesthetic interventions of experimental publishing through its emphasis on the materiality of the book – from its formal and conceptual properties to its production and circulation, and the attendant processes of reading, writing, and designing.
