Lekakis Stelios, Cultural Heritage Specialist
Biography
Stelios Lekakis is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research Fellow in the School of History, Classics and Archaeology at Newcastle University. Archaeologist and Cultural Heritage Management Consultant, with background in sustainable strategies in heritage management and the role of local communities, not least Naxos. Has worked for the Directorate of the National Archive of Monuments (Athens), the NGO ‘MONUMENTA programme’, and founding member of the Association of Heritage Consultants (Greece). Is currently working on the concepts of heritage management, landscape assessment and characterisation: The RES.CO.PART project. Joined SNAP in 2015.
