Biography
Creighton graduated with a B.A. (Honours) in Archaeology from Trent University in 2013, and a M.A. in Anthropology from McMaster University in 2016. Her Master’s research took an intersectional approach to explored sex/gender and status based differences in dental health at Roman Winchester, UK (3-5th century CE).
Creighton’s doctoral research, under the supervision of Dr. Megan Brickley and Dr. Tracy Prowse, explores coming of age in the Roman Empire. Specifically, she will be focusing on adolescent remains, to understand when children became adults – both physically (by assessing puberty) and socially (by assessing diet). She hopes to understand how aging was experienced within Roman society, including how this may have varied depending on gender, status, and location.
