Geologist with specialism in tectonics and earthquakes employing remote sensing techniques (satellite imagery, radar-SAR interferometry and digital terrain models). His research has included working amongst the volcanoes of the Lake Van region and north-eastern Anatolia, including the obsidian bearing massifs of Mount Ararat, Tendürek Dağ and Nemrut Dağ. Onur has been a member of the MOPE project since 2010.
