Biography
Rayan Harmouche is a recent graduate from McMaster University and has completed her degree in health studies and gerontology. Rayan became interested in Global health at the age of ten when she studied abroad in the Middle East for one year. Taking the experience of growing up, listening and experiencing the impacts of war on health, she is interested in becoming part of the research community in order to participate in Canada's advancement in health and foreign policy research. Rayan enjoys reading about politics and history. She speaks Arabic and is currently learning French. Rayan's research interests in Global Health vary and develop over time as new information is learnt but she is currently interested in studying Canada's foreign involvement in the Middle East when it comes to health policy and foreign aid. Rayan hopes to apply to Canada's young diplomat program in order to gain international experience and to be part of the discussion on health and well-being in developing countries.
