Gooding William, PhD Student

Biography
William Gooding identifies as a queer, Indigenous-European scholar of Quechua, Spanish and Irish descent. His/their work explores how sexual health, desire, representation and liveability for people living with disabilities, those who are racialized and for Indigenous peoples is circumscribed by systems of care and control. William is committed to engaging in transdisclipinary work that stretches across the humanities and the social sciences. William earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English and History from the University of British Columbia, a Master’s of Social Work from Ryerson University and is presently completing a PhD in Social Work at McMaster University with a focus on gender and feminist research. William is presently working as the National Director of the Feast Centre for Indigenous STBBI (sexually transmitted blood borne illnesses) Research supporting First Nations, Inuit and Métis STBBI community-based projects that integrate diverse Indigenous and decolonizing methods to better support Indigenous communities and individuals living with and affected by STBBI.
