As a broadly-trained anthropological archaeologist my research and publications span a range of specializations, including archaeometallurgy, lithic analysis, spatial statistics, and field survey. My primary focus is on early farmers of the central Mediterranean, with a particular emphasis on the reflexive relationship between material culture and long-term social processes. Central themes in my work include: a) the dynamics, form, and pace of cultural change, b) power and inequality in small-scale societies, and c) the socio-economic significance of exchange and long-distance relations.

I have been a member of the MAX Lab since its inception in 2010 and participated in the MOPE Project from 2010-2013, involved in the collection and geo-referencing of obsidian source samples throughout Anatolia and the Aegean. Aside from my Ph.D. research on central Mediterranean assemblages, I am involved in a number of publications being generated from the MAX Lab’s analysis of the MOPE source samples.
