Peggy was born amid the marshland texture of the East coast of Canada, where she grew up in a house filled with oil paintings. Peggy trained as a biologist, but worked in both the arts, policy and sciences before succumbing to the dark shadows of AIDS related illnesses in the 90’s. She rediscovered sculpture while recovering from AIDS. Recently building a colourful seven-foot cocktail glass re-energized her passions and concern for the environment, as well as for others living with HIV. She met peers from 20 diverse communities across Canada, while delivering the piece to New Brunswick. Peggy has always been concerned about deep red stigma and purple isolation associated with HIV in rural communities. She co-founded the Southern Gulf Islands (HIV) Support Society and positively AFRICA (which focuses support to the pandemic in sub-saharan Africa). With a brush, pen or a meditation in hand, she has taught Body-Mapping, Energy healing (Therapeutic Touch), traveled extensively in Canada and Sub-Saharan Africa, and a bit in India and Nepal. Peggy has entered the royal purple days of seniority, and feels lucky to be alive!
