Biography
Allie Cotter is a member of the University of Guelph’s 2018 graduating class. She attained her Bachelors degree in Political Science and International Development with an area of specialization in environment and development. Coming from an inherently interdisciplinary background, policy is the link for Allie; studying allowed her to develop a global perspective, her work as a legislative research assistant with the Senate of Canada helps bridge the gap between theory and pragmatism. While her niche is geopolitics, intersectionality and accessibility are at the forefront of an analysis on any topic. Alongside her MA, Allie is participating in the UNU-INWEH Water Without Borders program in order to further understand the intersection between poverty, and policy-making because she believes water is both a right and a resource.
