Health Policy PhD Program

McMaster University's Ph.D. in Health Policy prepares intellectual leaders in the field of health policy. Our interdisciplinary program is unique in Canada, made possible by collaborations between McMaster University's Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Humanities, DeGroote School of Business, Faculty of Social Sciences and Faculty of Science. The program enjoys a special relationship with the Centre for Health Economics and Policy Analysis (CHEPA), which provides a dynamic and collegial environment for health policy education and scholarship.

Health Research Methodology (HRM) Program

The Health Research Methodology (HRM) Program in the Faculty of Health Sciences provides training at the MSc and PhD level. The goal is to produce graduates with research methods skills that enable them to “push the boundaries of knowledge” relevant to improving clinical practice (including medical education research), strengthening health systems and enhancing population health.

DeGroote School of Business PhD program in Business Administration - Health Management

The Health Management (HM) stream in the Business Administration PhD program has a strong emphasis on both research and the application of management and evaluation techniques and is designed to produce highly motivated and capable researchers and practitioners.

Canadian Health Economists' Study Group

The Canadian Health Economists' Study Group organizes an annual meeting, usually in late May, at which economists with an interest in theoretical or empirical economic analysis of health and health care related issues can try out their work before a specialist audience.

Canadian Economics Association

With around 2000 members (in 2016) across the country and from abroad, the Canadian Economics Association (CEA) is the organization of academic economists in Canada. The Association has for its object the advancement of economic knowledge through the encouragement of study and research, the issuing of publications, and the furtherance of free and informed discussion of economic questions. The Association as such will not assume a partisan position upon any question of practical politics nor commit its members to any position thereupon.

Canadian Association for Health Services and Policy Research

The Canadian Association for Health Services and Policy Research (CAHSPR) is a multidisciplinary association dedicated to improving health and health care by advancing the quality, relevance, and application of research on health services and health policy.

UBC Centre for Health Services and Policy Research

CHSPR is an independent research centre based in the School of Population and Public Health of the University of British Columbia. Its mission is to stimulate scientific enquiry into health system performance, equity, and sustainability.
