About this event

The Canadian Mental Health Association, Hamilton Branch (CMHA Hamilton), The McMaster Student Wellness Centre (SWC), The McMaster Museum of Art (MMA), The McMaster Community Research Platform (CRP), Centre[3] for Artistic + Social Practice, and the Centre for Advanced Research on Mental Health and Society (ARMS) invite you to attend our Community Art Exhibition for Artistic Explorations of Mental Health, a part of this year's CMHA Hamilton's Mental Health Week!

The event will be hosted on Friday May 5th, at Centre[3] for Artistic + Social Practice's premises, 126 James Street North in Hamilton, ON, and includes two exhibitions: 1 - 4 PM and 6 - 8:30 PM. Some of the artists will be on-hand to meet and share more about their journey behind their artistic creation; The Evening Exhibition (6 - 8:30 PM) will include light refreshments and appetizers.

The various modalities of artwork (paintings, collages, photography, digital illustrations, and poetry) featured focus on three key themes: Resilience and Sources of Hope Through Adversity; A Sense of Connection and Community; and the Diversity of the Student Identity & Process of Self-Discovery.

This event will allow you to discover work by artists within the Hamilton community on their artistic journeys, celebrate creativity and resilience, and learn more about resources available for promoting mental health!
