About Dr. Ann Garland
Over the past 30 years, Dr. Garland’s teaching, research, and practice has been devoted to improving community-based mental health care by strengthening the integration of scientifically and practically derived knowledge. A former Professor of Psychiatry at U.C.S.D. and of Counselling and Family Therapy at U.S.D., she has trained hundreds of mental health professionals from multiple disciplines, published over 120 articles and book chapters. Dr. Garland holds degrees from Yale University, Columbia University and U.C. Berkeley.
